Clyde COG History

HISTORY: 

     The charter members of Clyde starting having services in the homes of community members in the Pine Ridge Community of Hartsville SC, before the church was organized in 1937 under the leadership of Rev. Fred Barfield.  The land that the original Church sat on was donated by Lillian Thompson, which is the corner of Catawba Springs and Santee Dr.  The lumber to build the original church building came from a gentleman in the community that wanted a house torn down and told the church they could have the lumber if they would take on the task.  The men took on this task and piece by piece the building was built.
